Uproar over Mormon anti-gay remarks
I heard on the radio as I was waking up this morning that gay rights groups were outraged over anti gay remarks by a leader in the Mormon Church. What struck me was the nature of his comments. It was something along the lines of:

"There are those who say homosexuality isn't a choice, that the traits are inborn. Not so. Why would God do that?"

My thought was, "That's not offensive. That's a great question."

(I'll update this post when I have a link to some sort of article)

And so I come back to the topic of moderate Christianity, one that is compatible with science and modern concepts of civil rights. Bad news Christians: It doesn't exist as a viable theological stance. The Bible says what it says, end of story. Either evolution is a lie and homosexuality is a choice and all science that says otherwise is a plot by the devil -or- the Bible is bullshit. There is no third option.

The only offensive thing about this Mormon leader is that he believes in Mormonism.

These are the days where I'm tempted to misspell it as "Moronism".

Google seems to know exactly what I imply anyway. :p

Well i choose the third option

To me there doesn't exist homosexuality or heterosexuality, or other variations of prefix-sexuality, what exists is philias, sex on evolution seemed to promote pleasure as a reward for breeding, because without a reward what would the action worth for, however the system is badly designed, instead of rewarding for the act of breeding it rewards sexual acts, and yes there is a choice in which philias you can choose to follow or grow in you.

evolution is not perfect, it's filled with very basic mistakes that a sapient deity wouldn't do, to me it's either choice of which philias to follow or social bias that says you can't be one or another

I should probably put that in better words

'Gay rights' groups (actually, leftist cultural Marxist groups) will be offended by anything that mentions or questions their Progressive, PC dogma. Just like these 'anti-semite' witch hunters.
"Philosophy would do well to desist from issuing any further injunctions about the need to re-establish the meaningfulness of existence, the purposefulness of life, or mend the shattered concord between man and nature. It should strive to be more than a sop to the pathetic twinge of human self-esteem. Nihilism is not an existential quandary but a speculative opportunity." - Ray Brassier

What, you mean that awful dogma which means that they want equal rights and not to be thought of abominable unnatural sinners? Shame on them.

Do you work for Fox news, by any chance?
