well, if I were a jar I guess I wouldn't know the difference between a butter knife and a man's hands. But alas, I'm not a jar and I know which one makes me pop.

I don't know...have you ever tried banging yourself with a butter knife?

If I wasn't here my wife could never figure out how to get the tv to work.  Or stop the toilet from running.  Or keep the algae out of the pool.  Or listen to funny noises in her car.  She's admitted that and agreed that picking up my underwear is a small price to pay.

I know how to do all of those things myself, though I take the car to a mechanic once I've identified whether the noise is a problem or not. Therefore, Tibs and I have been training to be teammates. It's working out pretty well, though I'm still the primary kitchen dweller and he's the tech guy. We play to our strengths.

In response to the OP, women do need men, but only if they're the sort of women who want men. The human race needs men for obvious reasons. Women have to take their need on a case-by-case basis.

And she shouldn't. My point is that every relationship is different. People who have "good" relationships find a balance of their strengths and work together. I might not need a man to tell me when to change the oil or to take out the trash, but I need a partner for a lot of other things.
