Played the shit out the first one with expansions, played the second one a good chunk especially with the last stand mode, but haven't touched the third one - heard mixed reviews.

I don't like the second one I got it refunded because they removed base building which is why I play RTS in the first place.

Yeah, the second one was much more like the tabletop game - small, important squads of units and characters than can level up and switch out their gear.

I loved 2.

Spent lots of time weighing each piece of equipment, what tactics I'd use.

Truly it was what Warhammer 40k the table top could be.

I loved the first dawn of war and found 2 problematic because it became a squad shooter. It was still fun, just not really an RTS in the style that I like.
