Also trolls don't do anything but talk shit. These assholes actually got up and did some shit.

But there's plenty of other labels to divide people. The worst one ever conceived of is that of religion. No divisive label has ever caused more turmoil. Even in situations where race was used as a dividing line, religion can be pointed to as a motivation to treat them differently.

Seems to me the last time Nazis got loose violence was the only answer. Nor is it likely the South would have given up slavery without a healthy dose of violence. These fuckers are already assholes, the only real question is just what will it take to put them back under a stone where they belong.

I don't agree anymore. While I'd really really love to dismiss these people as fringe and in it for the attention, I no longer believe they are. While I'd like to believe that this is Not Who We Are, I don't. Not anymore. 

This is how we've been all along. It never went anywhere. It just went underground. Now it's bubbling up. The ONLY way to combat this shit is to see it. Acknowledge it. OWN IT. 

I choose to believe this is the one good thing that's coming from this presidency. 

Our president denounced the violence yesterday. He did not denounce the white supremacists and their rally of hatred, their anti-semitic chanting. This is not ok and it breaks my heart that THIS is what is in the hearts of Americans. We have been in denial about this for long enough. THIS is what we all have to face and accept as the truth or we will never move away from it.

Considering it was almost universally the position of governments to condemn the Jyllands-Posten cartoonists for portraying Muhammad and not condemn the violent actions of Muslims in retaliation, it's not surprising at all, and not just the U.S. ignoring the roots of the fucking problems.
