It Seems Bill Maher Was Right Again

The GOP has, for the last 50+ years or so, been the party of the fearful who desperately cling to a nostalgic vision of America that never existed in the first place.  The reason why South Park's Member Berries joke works is because it's true.

'member when America was strong?
'member when America was white?
'member when women and minorities knew their place?
'member when the poor simply died and weren't propped up by your hard work?
'member when foreigners didn't steal our jobs?

The GOP platform, for generations, has been fascist.  Politely so, with dog whistle terminology and false equivalences.  And politeness leads to legitimacy, because, hey, it's just an opinion, and it tugs at white people's fear (to those with power, a move towards equilibrium seems like oppression), and it's not like literal Nazis are going to take to the street and kill someone....

...oh.

So, yeah, this is the end result of the GOP platform.  When you're conditioned to fear everyone not like you, you eventually lash out.

More bullshit fallacy of equivocation. Can democrats be racist? Yes, but we are not talking about that, the averages of racists are in the GOP by a far bigger number.

None of that in any case has anything to do with keeping statues of men who fought to keep slavery.

Google "Cal-exit"

Proposal may not be specifically advertised as "Apartheid", but when Tucker Carlson repeatedly described it as such with a key (the key??) proponent on his show last week, there was nary a denial uttered that apartheid was in fact the goal/result of the movement.

Hard to describe an essentially "brown" (not my term) and entirely poor Californian majority (middle class (everyone middle class regardless of race, BTW)having been "exported" to the remainder of the US for being 'apparently' racist, and therefore 'welcome' there) and a moneyed elite consisting of Silicon Valley billionaires and movie/TV celebrities ruling over them.

Since they know what's best. (again, not disputed)

Hard to describe as anything but apartheid, however I note, if such a change were proposed for Alabama or Mississippi I imagine we would be seeing public crucifixion/immolations of all proponents, real and merely accused.

As a social experiment (done on a computer) it would be 'interesting', but I imagine in RL it might be rather awful, although if all the poor 'brown' people (not my term) were on board with it and didn't mind, who am I to complain ??

Na, if Bama or Mississippi want to leave the US, they can go right the fuck ahead.  California has to stay, though, gotta -get- that money.   It seems like the dipshits at fox can;t make up their minds, as to whether the liberal elites are trying to get rid of browns or bussing them in by the truckload to serve as helots.....

Asked my sister who knows everything.

Are you talking about Shankar Signam?  The guy who's group said that his views were not their own?

Nope, not him.

Bald (shaved) white guy.

Acts like he's twitchy from meth, but apparently is just enthusiastic.
