God and the dilemma with unfalsifiability

RE: God and the dilemma with unfalsifiability
Maybe if you worshipped AM's god, you'd have another kid but have four more years of Bacchanalian debauchery?

On the other hand, if he didn't worship a god, maybe he'd have four more years of sobriety at the expense of one child?
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Really? Most people have no problem accepting non-falsifiable positions if they like those positions. A gay or trans person says there were born that way. Plenty of atheists take that at face value, even though it's not falsifiable. Well, actually, it pretty much is falsified by twins studies, but you guys accept it anyway.

Quote:Maybe if you can demonstrate that those things happen at a significantly higher rate for Christians than people of other religions, or no religions, you may have a point.

I'm not trying to prove a point. The question was whether I'm comfortable with it, not whether I could prove it to your satisfaction.

What studies are those, the ones you've pulled out of your ass? You're already comfortable being gullible, so by your own admission, everything you believe is suspect. And don't fucking pull this false equivocation bullshit on us, prick.
Religions were invented to impress and dupe illiterate, superstitious stone-age peasants. So in this modern, enlightened age of information, what's your excuse? Or are you saying with all your advantages, you were still tricked as easily as those early humans?

---

There is no better way to convey the least amount of information in the greatest amount of words than to try explaining your religious views.

How do you know this?

A smart person only takes little imagination to work that out Cyb.

Humans are stuck with the UNIDIMENSIONAL factor that means that we can only do one thing at the time, think at one thing at the time and be in one place at the time therefore we come to the conclusion that everybody must follow the same routine.

After billion years that the universe exist and keep on expanding come natural that someone is there with a MULTIDIMENSIONAL mind that can watch even a blade of grass and make sure that everything works the best possible way.

I guess you never thought about that Cyb, did you?  Bird

I wish I were addicted to going to church and reading the Bible, but I don't do either nearly as much as I should.

But if I had switched a malignant addiction for a benign one, I'd be fine with that.

Shouldn't you be looking for a benign addiction, then, to replace your malignant jesusism?

It's usefulness as a tool is waning.

Hardly. Europe has largely abandoned Christianity, and it's largely abandoned having babies. Secular attempts at encouraging procreation haven't worked, so now they're importing people, largely theists, to fill the gap.

Are you suggesting that religion is a baby making tool.....or....honestly, what? Fun fact, we do the same here, in the US. Natives are slightly below the replacement rate - it's the influx of immigrants that keeps us well supplied with the necessary labor and population to support our continued well-being. They're also, largely, religious. More amusingly still..within one or two generations they've been thoroughly naturalized, having more in common with the culture in which they were raised than the one which they left. That also coincides with a reduction in their reproductive rates and growing secular or even irreligious leanings.

The subversiveness of our melting pot culture might be the missing ingredient that european cultures lack, in that regard - though it's really only a difference of degree and rapidity. Immigrants end up naturalizing, to varying extents, regardless of where they go - and all of western society (really, all society, lol) has, to some extent, swallowed a portion of the american kool-aid.
