It's usefulness as a tool is waning.

Hardly. Europe has largely abandoned Christianity, and it's largely abandoned having babies. Secular attempts at encouraging procreation haven't worked, so now they're importing people, largely theists, to fill the gap.

What secular attempts are these then?
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Uh, every thread in which the US is said to be behind Europe in such things?

Or here's one example:

This should be good.

@AM

Yeah - neither link addresses anything even accidentally approaching "Secular attempts at encouraging procreation haven't worked, so now they're importing people, largely theists, to fill the gap", nor referring to "Tax benefits and other benefits".

Want to try again?

And you're probably comfortable with that, right?

Why would I not be comfortable with it??

I was just responding to Gentleman Bastard's shock and incredulity that Christians would actually, actually, believe that God cares about a football game. All I'm saying is that it's clearly already within the realm doctrine and obviously God was partial to the Chicago Cubs in 2016. Sadly, they have fallen out of favor. Maybe an outfielder's been having wet dreams or something.
