For me hands down it's was a friend online a few years ago who proclaimed "Academics have never anything useful" Then followed up with "business is the only useful field " I was in awe of the levels of ignorance in those statements . (Were not friends anymore)

On a short haul flight from Dublin to Cardiff (so propellor aircraft), the woman in the aisle beside me and my friend said to the stewardess about the engines: "Those things are very loud, can you turn them off?", to which the stewardess replied "Aah, no. We kind of need them to stay up."
Worst thing was the idiot wan was in all likelihood a high level business woman from her appearances.
