So, let's do the math:

6 1/4 inches of rain PER MINUTE

is

375 inches PER HOUR (only a very few places see that much rain in a YEAR !!)

and 375 inches is 31 1/4 feet by the way and that much rain per hour for an entire day is:

750 FEET of rain in one day !!

And that is 5250 FEET of rain in a week !!!!  (nearly a mile deep !!!!)

And after 40 days:

30,000 FEET of water, enough to cover all the mountains, and give Noah a grand planetwide ocean to drift across !!!!

But if you actually read the Bible you might dump the assumption that mountains were the same height then as now...

So, tell us. How much have mountain heights changed in 6 to 10 thousand years in the middle east.

When I was seven Mom experimented by sending me to Sunday School. Second week the lesson was on the Ark. I asked who the humans married after the Flood. The teacher got red-faced and asked the preacher to explain. He got red-faced. I got a note for my Mom asking that I not come back. Win.

This. Is there no rationalization too ridiculous for believers to latch onto?

Give god a break, no one ever said he could count above 7.   Although if he adds his own divine fingers and toes to jesus' fingers and toes that are also consubstantial with his own fingers and toes, he might get to 10 toes + 10 fingers + 10 toes + 10 fingers = 40!   Hey, 40 days of rain, a frikking long rain!

Yeah? the Bible says the Himalayas rose 29000 feet in 6000 years?

If you actually read the Bible you might dump the assumption it is true.

Why would we look to the bible for geology?

Well, the Christians are REQUIRED to, and they are guilty of HERESY for holding contrary ideas to those presented in Holy Scripture if they don't.

Maybe the First Amendment needs to be reinterpreted (that has been in the news lately) forcing the government to require (or at least assume) believers to actually believe ??

Pshaw, everyone knows that mountain ranges are an antediluvian formation. The earth was nearly flat and gawd only needed a few dozen feet of water.

Well, Mt Ararat, at least, had to be preplaced for Noah and his ark to lodge upon.

Quiet, or the rubes might catch on.
