Poll: Is there any aspect/type of god you as an atheist would be happy to discover existed?

The biblical god in all his tyrannical, OT bad-assedness.

One that is concerned with human conduct and hands out eternal bliss or torture in a life-exit interview.

One that listens to 'prayers' or reads your mind and chooses life events with your development in mind; the 'world' for this sort of god is a kind of theater with no independent or necessary existence.

An all-powerful one that created everything from nothing just the way it is on purpose but has covered his tracks to make natural causes more plausible.

Not all-powerful, one possessed of some creative powers but not limitless, creating some forms but all from pre-existing substrata, not from 'nothing'.

One that is drastically older (approaching eternality?) and has seen it all but relates to you-as-consciousness as a kind of benevolent big brother and values your companionship without judgements or need for your worship.

I'd like to ask my fellow atheists if they would be happy to learn there was a god.

Disturbing to see so much side boob on a guy god.  Otherwise, I like him.

Sounds like an intelligence that evolved, just like us. It's just MUCH older and reached a state where it isn't distinguishable from a god. I think it's very likely there are a multitude of such beings in the universe but as to whether or not they would see any value in the lives of creatures at our stage of evolution - well that's another matter.

That sounds a lot like the Ego the Living Planet character from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. "Little g", he humbly claimed when they said he sounded like a god. I still wouldn't care for that kind of thing. Something incapable of meeting us halfway and understanding us and knowing what a dick it can be because of that, there's just no getting around that.
Religions were invented to impress and dupe illiterate, superstitious stone-age peasants. So in this modern, enlightened age of information, what's your excuse? Or are you saying with all your advantages, you were still tricked as easily as those early humans?

I don't really have a preference for a type of god. Though i would find it assuming if god were proven true. Mainly the reaction from the non believers. Just like i would equally find it assuming if god were proven false.

At best the non-believers would simply become non-worshipers. A god who does not merit devotion and adoration is no different than one that does not exist, for all practical purposes.

A god who merited adoration, devotion, and worship would not want it.
I'm not anti-Christian. I'm anti-stupid.

If I found out my dogs were gods I'd go right on adoring and worshipping them all the same.

Me too.

But in that case, I wonder: does picking up my dogs'/gods' shit make me a thoughtful neighbor or an apologist?

That's his stomach. He's modeled on the Bacchus from "Fantasia."

This reminds me of an old joke.

Dog - "humans provide me with food, shelter, love. They must be gods".

Cat - "humans provide me with food, shelter, love. I must be a god".

You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.
