No, I'm good.

Our family has a company that would have reported this to us and nipped the problem off at the bud, had we been hacked. They even take care of all the details of getting new credit cards, and so forth.

Well, with Experian and TransUnion, we have 3 major companies doing the same thing.

How about 'nuking' Equifax, and then I bet the other 2 NEVER fuck up in a similar fashion.

And the overhead savings from Equifax can go to Somalia or Bangladesh or Haiti, or some other hell hole.

I'd love to invest in a class action lawsuit. More money in that than being a party to the case.

It's a scam.  You will give up your right to participate in a class action lawsuit if you enroll in the crooks' program.  You might get free monitoring for a year but you won't get a few bucks from the class action lawsuit.

Any creditor who extends credit to someone who has been compromised should have to eat the bill if he doesn't verify the true identity of the person.

The NY Attorney General told them to knock that shit off, that it isn't enforceable so Equifax added to their FAQ a disclaimer stating the TOS waiving of right to sue does not apply to security breaches.

I heard on the news today that this breach happened two or so months ago, and that within days of the breach being discovered, execs in the company offloaded about 1.3 million shares of stock.

They then sat on the information about the breach for another seven weeks before informing consumers.

I wonder if that falls under insider-trading regulations?
