Regarding The Flap Over Confederate Statues

The reason the South was worried about Congress is because they knew the Missouri Compromise meant that there would likely be no more slave states, and that with abolitionist sentiments growing, slavery would one day be outlawed.

That is why they fought, and in that sense it damned sure was about the right for a state to legalize chattel slavery.

So you're okay with statues of men who committed treason in order to defend a state's right to legalize slavery. Got it.

"The sad part is" people think that the people protesting the maintenance of monuments to Jim Crow and the white supremacy ethos are ignorant. 

Have a theme part dedicated to bigotry and arrogance, buy don't ask the tax payers to support it. Put it right next to the Ark Park. It belongs there. Our tax dollars don't belong there.

What about all the other statues out there for people alive when standards were acceptable?  The Lincoln memorial? Washington monument? Mount Rushmore?  Jefferson monument? All of the dollar bills and coins? The American Constitution. The original Bill of Rights.  

It was acceptable to argue against gay rights back then like Marten Luther King Jr. did. Are you willing to rip down his statues? The whole argument is about equality isn't it? Was Jim Crow about black rights or all rights? Start a movement for removing statues against gay rights too. I would love to see you on CNN arguing removing his statues along with Malcom X. We'll see narrow minds get bellow one lane then.

Yeah. I've stated right along that I'm only concerned with those on property maintained by taxpayer money. "Confederate Bigotry Park" can have all the statues, I don't care.
