It may seem strange but when the genre term "DarkWave" was first introduced, Depeche Mode was included in it. Darkwave is kind of like Synthpop and Goth. They also have done EBM before, EBM being Post-Industrial.

It's that guy that sounds like Huey Lewis isn't it. Had to look up the name. Rick Astley. I should know it from the Rick Rolling thing.
What crack are you smoking. Huey Luis and Rick are great in their own respects but sound the same?
Huey was more pop rock and Rick was simply pop.

I tried. It isn't the Eurythmics. Depeche mode? Pet shop boys? They werent very gothy. Um...im still thinking.

I'm not a metal head. I tend to only like obscure progressive metal. Tool is about as mainstream as I get and they're actually classified as 'hard rock', I think. Despite them not really sounding like other hard rock (which usually isn't very hard)... Tool are just Tool.
And a lot of stuff I hear that is considered 'metal' sounds both too poppy and too cheesy and also not heavy enough, to be what I normally think of as 'metal'.
Although I do especailly despise screamo and death metal. As if that screaming and throatsinging constitutes 'singing' then why even fucking have it. It sounds shit. Better without the vocals.
I'm not talking about the occasional scream or shout used for effect though. Tool and Riverside are experts at that, for example. But screaming or throatsinging all the time sounds fucking shit to the ear. Something extreme starts to feel bland if it's constant as it destroys all sense of contrast.

Oh I only really know Master of Puppets and Enter Sandman when it comes to Metallica. And even then I couldn't tell you the lyrics. I just like the riffage.
I never particularly remember song lyrics. The fact that my favorite band of all time is fully instrumental may have something to do with that.
