I thought the entire forum was open to debate, except for the introduction area.

By formal debate rules. And the Intro area is just for that, intros, making people welcome before dipping into the pool.

And you know what that entails- christpunchers presenting flimsy/questionable evidence that anyone can punch holes in like it was tissue paper, as though it were...gospel, and walking away like in pigeon chess, even if every point was set afire at its utterance. Nope, there's a separate debate forum but it's not very active and the last time it was used was in 2015.
