People in the Midwest tend not to "wear their religion on their sleeves." It's an attitude I often question as the culture becomes more hostile to religious expression and the free exercise of religion. (No, I don't feel persecuted just apprehensive) There is a big difference between a secular society and a godless one. I think the Freedom From Religion folks are very misguided.
Why? Because FFRF folks aren't afraid to put government entities such as schools and courthouses in their places when it comes to putting religious items on their property such as crosses and ten commandment "statues"? No sorry... your religious rights don't get to trample on my freedom FROM religion rights when it comes to buildings that are government property. And you would be one of the first ones to cry foul if any other religion besides yours decided that they wanted their monikers where they don't belong.
How does In Allah We Trust sound to you on our printed and coined money?
Or - One Nation under Allah - for the Pledge of Allegiance?
No? Don't like those? Do they offend you? Well your religious monikers being placed where my tax dollars goes, offends me too.
There's a reason why we have Separation OF church AND state.
As for those kids with their trucks... whatever floats their boat and makes them feel better at night. As long as their flags aren't being flown on school owned property (read: the flagpole), I don't give two shits what they do.
