Honoring George Washington, Unwelcoming...Please Keep it Up

Christ Church has featured a memorial to George Washington, a founder and attendee of the church, since 1870. Christ Church is now planning on removing the memorial to Washington because "“The plaques in our sanctuary make some in our presence feel unsafe or unwelcome. Some visitors and guests who worship with us choose not to return because they receive an unintended message from the prominent presence of the plaques..."
