I get “hey” about 2-5 times a month for over a year from someone I stopped talking to over a year ago.

They're breaking laws by refusing to remove your number. I could be mistaken, but I believe it's the responsibility of the new debt collector to verify numbers listed as do not call. If they're using an autodialer, it's moot. Autodialers are an automatic violation.

I haven't received any random nudes yet... but I'm hopeful.
Depends on the weirdness of the sender, no?

When it starts up again it's never the same outfit. Maybe - they definitely are using a robodialer.
Bust 'em for the robodialer if nothing else. You don't even have to be on the do not call list for that to be a no-no.

If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.

At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

It's just the National Do Not Call Registry site, but right there on the front page you can report any number using a robodialer. I've cut my robocall's way down since I started turning the bastards in. While you're there, add your number. It doesn't stop them all, but it sure cuts down on the new ones. Silence is golden! ETA: Try to milk the asshole on the other end for as much information as possible before actually reporting them. Many of them use phone number spoofing making it harder to track them. Having a company name and especially a contact name is a load of help.
