What would make it a vain life?

It being a belief of falsehood. Living for an identity that was web of lies to begin with.

Those beings who believe in deception and believe in both harmful and healing magic, and think they have the right to do as they will, as long as they think it is for the over all benefit.

Those who believe in masking the truth, and deceiving the masses,  and layering the secrets with secrets, while the chosen ones are accused of stealing their knowledge and deceiving humans to follow them,  and they prosecute the chosen ones and those who call to justice from humanity.

Those who if God had not defended against with others, would have destroyed all religions and force people to the Pharaohs and Avatars they choose themselves.

What MUST you do that will let you discern good from evil?

Love the family of Mohammad not only more than love of myself, but see who I truly am through their vision and in all that, make God my goal and make the means to God.

I need to bring my reflection to overdrive as well which naturally will happen if I seek the path of love.

What is the "identity that is a web of lies"?

The darkness that masks itself with light, the uncleanness that surrounds itself with pure blessed water claiming it is real.  It is a lie. There is no good in holding on to that ego and lie. 
When Moses is seen lower than Pharaoh, when disbelief heighten over faith, when vanity is seen greater then piety, when the word of God is below the word of disbelief, the world is unbalanced, we are unbalanced.
The seeker of the truth and the guides of others to it, must be what we hold on to as the dark night surrounds us, and the evil knots are blown upon, we must break free from the web of lies.
