Cops are wonderful, aren't they?
#21
RE: Cops are wonderful, aren't they?
I have heard stories about cops who pull drivers out of their vehicle, search the vehicle without a warrant, and just take whatever they feel like. People have lost large sums of cash over this. That's what I think of when I think "road bandit". You show me a video about someone who's speeding, and obviously suffering from road rage, and giving him a ticket, and calling that road piracy? I'm failing to sympathize with the driver here.

I would actually count this as a good cop, mostly because he didn't pull a gun and start shooting into the vehicle. which would probably happen if the dude was black. I love how he jumps out of the car while screaming at this cop, and the cop just takes a step back. Didn't fear for his life for a second.

I notice this guy admitted to being caught speeding before. Over a hundred dollars seems like a lot, but again, having trouble sympathizing with the driver.

Even though this video is from 1992, most cops are still like this to this very day...

And even if he was speeding, so what? Some people are in a rush, as long as they are driving
safely, then who cares?

Anyway, what do you think about this crook?

Let me guess you don't contract with the cops to abide by the rules of the road. And your real name is either en of the family Klassen or EN:KLASSEN. enKlassen is simply a straw man created by the government to make money of your personhood.

Hmm, no response. The sov cit/FotL nonsense must cut close to the bone.

Anyway, I know that video isn't widespread, in fact, I got that off of a 1998 shockumentary called "Banned from Television".

And yes, I am old enough to drive, and no, I don't have a driver's license... yet. But I do know that giving someone a fine for going 2 miles above the
 speed limit is dumb...

Here's a little lesson for you...

In the vast majority of cases, you'd be hard pressed to find any police officer pulling over someone for going two miles above the posted speed limit and here's why:

There is a margin of error that must be considered and that usually goes up or down by three. So if the speed limit is 25 and a cop shoots his radar at someone who appears to be going 28, he's not going to waste his time pulling that person over. It's wasteful when he could clearly catch a more serious offender.

Second - all speeding tickets can be fought in a court of law. Someone getting pulled over for going 2 miles over the posted speed limit would be stupid not to take that to court to fight it. The judge would not only dismiss the ticket in its entirety, but probably chastise the officer for giving the ticket out in the first place.

I've been driving for 30 years. I've gotten more than my fair share of tickets. Five years ago, I got nailed going 31 mph OVER the speed limit. Yep. I got nailed going 96 in a 65. I decided to take it to court and fight it. This was in PA. I got the ticket reduced down to 10 mph over and walked away with a $110 fine instead of what I was facing: A 30 day suspension of my license and 5 points that would have stayed on my record for four years.

I've also gotten pulled over by a cop for going five miles an hour over the speed limit in Maryland. I took that to court too. It was dismissed because the judge told the cop he was an idiot for wasting the departments resources when the way he was parked was considered entrapment. When the judge asked the court room who else was there because of getting pulled over by that cop, nearly everyone stood up. All those cases were dismissed on the spot too.

tl;dr version: No police officer worth his salt is going to waste time pulling over someone for going a few miles above the speed limit. It's too easy to fight it in court.  Given that video - it was probably staged because a driver going batshit crazy makes for good tv and entertains simple minds. Especially if you're saying the guy was pulled over for "speeding". Going two miles over, isn't exactly "shock" worthy.

He was going more than 2 over

Even so... the whole thing was probably staged for that tv show. Either way - it doesn't really matter. I didn't find it to be all that shock-worthy. Especially after that one ticked I mentioned from five years ago. lol.

He had to be. I wouldn't imagine you'd be worth pulling over at all for two miles over.

And yeah, it might have been staged for the show. Who knows?
