And given that Roy Moore was, until recently, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Alabama, one would expect he'd know the Constitution backwards and forwards. Then again, this is a man who pretty much became famous for right-wing virtue signalling with his giant fucking marble 10 Commandments monument.

Of course you have to bear in mind that the kind of faith Moore has is really more of a mental illness than it is a religion.  Leastwise that's the obsession around which his crazy is wrapped.

Roy Moore used to be a judge. It was once his job to know what the law of the land was. He shouldn't need a journalist to inform him that you don't need to swear on the bible to take office.
