I find it rather interesting that the polls are tied lol

Me too. It's been a tougher question than I'd expect. apparently some people really love sex.

So which would you give up, food or sex?

As for my choice, because I enjoy sexual pleasures only once every few days, but I enjoy food several times a day, I would give up sex.  What about you?

With all your explanation, I'm not sure I'm completely getting this right, but here goes. I'd give up food, since, while it is more important for sustenance---you can literally live without sex, masturbation, porn, or fetish messageboards (fetlife, zity.biz, and the like)---it's less fascinating, emotional, etc.

If you took away the parameters that I'd no longer find looking at the fairer gender pleasurable, and I'd never have to eat again (maybe because of a nutritional implant), then food becomes way more important because 1) you die without it, and 2) before that happens, the hunger that you'd endure would grow to be horrible. Sexual withdrawal, in all its forms, is frustrating, but usually not that bad a thing.

Since we're not talking biological needs such as sustenance, but considering them in the abstract, I don't understand why half the folks here apparently garner more pleasure from eating than lovin'. The closeness that comes with loving your partner, the expression we give it in sex, to me far surpasses the temporary pleasure of eating a good dish well-made.

Horses for courses, I guess.

Maybe I just misinterpreted it, then. I thought the question was basically "Would you rather not enjoy food anymore, or not enjoy sex anymore?"

I may be a bit biased, because I'm much more familiar with enjoying food than sex, but that act is just one of many bonding exercises you can do with another person. But food? It's such a fundamental part of life, and there are so many different foods to enjoy. I just can't imagine giving that up. There is no temporary to it, either. I do this 2+ times a day, every day of the year. Even people that have sex are presumably not doing it that often.

Does this mean that you hope I get to have enjoyable sex soon? Because if that's what you meant then yes I totally want that.

Yea. Sex with myself sometimes beats (no pun intended) dinner but it feels more like a frustrating need than anything, most of the time.

Sex isn't about love or expression for me, it's a physical act that feels good. Since we are talking about no longer enjoying the feeling it's easier to give up.

I too have eaten much more often then I've had rolls in the hay, but the premise of the OP is that your nutriment is supplied, so that it isn't a daily requirement. For me, shorn of that requirement, I get more pleasure from good lovin'. It's not just any ol' bonding, it's sharing our innermosts.

I'm actually surprised 80% of people didn't vote for sex.

I'm even more surprised that I didn't vote for sex myself. I was in a nonsexual mood when I voted and I have an extremely transient sense of self. I often always feel like I'm not the same person I was 5 minutes ago.

I'd 100% vote for sex right now.

Oh, meaning I'd rather give up food. And I'd 100% vote for preferring to have sex.

I mean, I know the Myers-Briggs personality tests are pseudo-scientific but I give different answers and get different results only a few minutes after last taking the test. If it were accurate then it would seem that I have multiple personalities (I regularly shift between several different types but almost never result in any others).
