Admitting You're a Sinner
RE: Admitting You're a Sinner
Admitting to sinning ?

Well, to the extent such an admission enhances the sexual experience, sure.

And being with sexually repressed religious males has led to some of the most exciting boinks I've experienced.

Woot !!!
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

A sinner is not born, and neither is sin an inherited condition as many teach.
In order to sin, you have to break the law of God in thought or deed.

We are born with the results of transgression on the human race, which necessitates compassion and not condemnation.

And it is not a case of inventing a need in order to sell something - sin is a fact or life.

I'm glad to see you wearing your actual religious affiliation openly this time instead of pretending to be a newly minted and disturbed atheist.  There really isn't need to pretend here.

I never hinted that I was a newly minted atheist, I said that by nature I am an atheist, which fits into this thread topic, because as a sinner I have no need or desire to relate to God, but as it turns out, I was given a measure of faith when I was born, just like all human beings, and that faith has been utilised and invested in to a degree, just like any other human being.

Religious people volunteer more time.

Quote:We know the religious are also far more likely to volunteer. Among Americans who have volunteered within the last year, three quarters belong to a religious organization, one quarter do not. https://www.philanthropy.com/article/Rel...ore/153973

Seems like a person's worldview does impact his/her actions. Hmm.

I find your chart compelling, but Khemikal's earlier statements got me thinking: the volunteer stats do seem awry. I mean, what's up with that? It seems as far as volunteer work, atheists are doing more than their fair share.

Also this:

(Scroll down a bit. I could not find the URL to directly post the image.)

According to Pew Research center, 36% of people who seldom/never attend church are "absolutely certain" in their belief of God... an additional 24% of the seldom/never crowd are "fairly certain" of their belief. That means that 60% of your stingy non-church goers are avowed theists. Even the remaining 40% atheists share with unsure believers and the like.

On one hand, such a distinction is a good way to weed out "cultural christians" from genuine believers. On the other hand, it lumps them into "our" category and possibly hurts our numbers.

Without the interceding word of God's light brought to life in this world, of which Jesus Is an instance of in the past and their merciful vision and witnessing truthful hopeful pardoning light,  I would have never forgiven myself for the evil I have done.

Maybe I should start a new thread for apologists of every stripe and call it:

Admitting You're a Slimball

It's worse than being Slimball in my case, but I don't want to say what I've done.

That's fine.  If you don't want to tell us, then I'm just going to assume you've been watching gay Jewish porn, and that there are cat corpses posed in decorative poses all over your basement! Big Grin

Jesus Christ on a cracker...What in the hell have you done, MK?
I kind of worry that you must've done some seriously horrendous shit, to have made yourself this guilt-ridden and sick.

If so, then quit fucking around and just tell them where the bodies are, son! Only then will you begin to find peace. Tongue

There are some sins they are just to dark to speak about, but thankfully it was not murder.
