It's very sad, and yet you are a total darling in the eyes of God, only you haven't been told or you are resisting that love every day.

Do you have the trust and hope that you will live again, at a moment's notice from God, or do you have nothing but oblivion to look forward to?
Perhaps Richard Dawkins can raise you to life, isn't he smarter than God?

You don't know what would have happened to Job's daughters and sons, had they not died instantly in that tornado. You don't know what the surrounding pagan nations were doing at the time and what they had already planned to do to Job, which is evident in the power that they exercised over Job's cattle.
You haven't considered the wide impact that the demise of Job had at the time, what a flood of evil it stemmed, and you seem to have no idea of what the great controversy between good and evil entailed at the time, and for all time.

And you don't know what life is, how it is given and how it can be given again, regardless of the passing of time or events.
And you have no idea of what this life is worth in comparison to eternal life and power, and you have no idea of the nature of the new world or heaven, or the state of living.
You have no idea of what life was like for Adam and Eve before they sinned.
And you have no idea of what Job's family suffered, and what suffering they did not have, instead you have chosen to represent God in the worst possible light, according to your ignorance of everything.

That's not a fair judgement.

Since nobody pointed it out, I should mention that in Judaism (at least as far as the Torah goes), Satan isn't quite the sort of figure that he is in Christianity. In Hebrew, it means "accuser" or "adversary." In the case of The Book of Job, Satan seems to be treated more as a prosecutor for God. If this isn't clear enough, Satan also appears in the book of Zechariah 3:1-7 (the only other time Satan is treated as an entity in the OT) as a parable for the cleansing of the sins of Israel, and he is specifically labeled a prosecutor:

Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord, and Satan[a] standing at his right side to accuse him. 2 The Lord said to Satan, “The Lord rebuke you, Satan! The Lord, who has chosen Jerusalem, rebuke you! Is not this man a burning stick snatched from the fire?”

3 Now Joshua was dressed in filthy clothes as he stood before the angel. 4 The angel said to those who were standing before him, “Take off his filthy clothes.”

Then he said to Joshua, “See, I have taken away your sin, and I will put fine garments on you.”

5 Then I said, “Put a clean turban on his head.” So they put a clean turban on his head and clothed him, while the angel of the Lord stood by.

It's the New Testament that really solidifies the role of Satan as we understand it. It's just poor reading to project the Christian views of Satan onto Satan, the accuser of the Old Testament, because they're just two different characters who happen to have the same title.

Jumping through hoops about what they might or might not have done in the future simply leads down a sinister path where we should kill our children so that they go directly to heaven, do not pass hell, do not collect 200 sins.

I make nothing of that. I'll be remembered for a few years by a few people, that's about it. Oblivion would be my preferred option over a pointless eternal existence, a nice long non existence is just what I need after the busy life I've had, I'll be disappointed if there turns out to be anything else.
