Which is grammatically more right - "red new car" or "new red car"

If I am sitting at a table of folks and we are discussing the age of our red cars, I might say "I have a new red car".

If we are discussing the color of our new cars, I might say "I have a red new car".

I think "I have a red new car" can be used even if you're discussing the age of your cars but using "I have a new red car" when you're discussing the color of your car seem a bit odd because "new" there is a bit more unnecessary than "red" in the previous sentence. Maybe that's why they think it's the more correct one?

It is usually elbow patched, tenured academics struggling with this shit. Everyone else is evolving the language and establishing the new norms through common use.

For some reason new red car doesn't sound right but makes more logical sense.
A car and it's colour is one object and should be treated as such ...ie a red car

The newness of the car is not describing the car ... it is subjective ... ie ...second hand but new to me

red and car should be as close together as possible ...

(PS, I just got a reply back from Oxford dictionary ... they asked me if I'm Indian? Dunno)

I don't know which is technically the most accurate.

Talking about cars though to me it would make more sense to say new red car.

Even if I had bought two new cars and was comparing colours I'd still say this is my new blue car and this is my new red car.

Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.

Impersonation is treason.
