Lying to the FBI about something that wasn't a crime in itself is in no way serious to Trump, and as the CNN link I gave above notes, the other charges were unrelated to the Trump campaign.
That's why people can't remember them. They're nothingburgers.
Who cares if it's not serious to Trump? The investigation is about Russian interference in the US election. If Trump had absolutely 100% nothing to do with it, but Russian interference still happened, isn't that still serious? This investigation is bigger than Trump, it's about our democracy.

Most people are far more concerned with the behavior of the DNC, than with the source of the leaks.
Why can't they be concerned with both? I am, and they should be. The fact that the largest political parties of the US can be hacked and their internal emails leaked is a bad thing, regardless of whats in the emails. Next time this happens, it could be the RNC emails getting leaked. I doubt they are squeaky clean either.

The thing about these "unrelated" crimes is that they become leverage to get people to talk as part of their plea deals. This is Criminal Investigation 101.

They blinked because the optics worked against them. It was a politically expedient decision.

The mere possibility that a foreign power, and a historic adversary at that, could have possibly interfered with our election process is bad for our democracy.
