Over the years I've undergone an alignment shift. I used to be neutral good but now am closer to true neutral.

I don't think any of us are quite that simple. I am mostly lawful good with occasional spots of chaotic good due to impatience or in a couple of cases bravery. But I've been known to lapse into lawful neutral out of tiredness or chaotic bad in anger.
If there is a god, I want to believe that there is a god.  If there is not a god, I want to believe that there is no god.

So if you put Hitler into a prison system where he decides it's best to go by the rules and not cause harm to anyone, that would make him lawful good?

I break laws all the time. I smoke weed, for instance (chaotic). But I try my best not to be interpersonally destructive (good). Victimless crimes are not crimes in my book, even though they may contribute to order in a society. There are laws against murder. I follow those laws and appreciate that they are there, but I don't think that makes me lawful. My problem with murder isn't that it violates the law and compromises an orderly society. My problem with it is that it is evil.

Think about figures such as Martin Luther King, who rejected the system of order of his day and fought against it. Is he chaotic good or neutral good? Many might say neutral, but I say chaotic, though I might be persuaded to change my opinion here...

I think figures like Joseph Stalin and Hitler are lawful evil (which, to me, seems like the "worst" alignment-- hence another reason why I say I am chaotic good.)

Thoughts on this?
