[split] AF Hall of Shame, various discussion including Denmark & bible contradiction
RE: AF Hall of Shame (Post Edition)
(March 1, 2018 at 10:19 am)Hammy Wrote: Contradiction number 3 of 525... were plants created before or after humans?

Quote:Plants were created before humans.

In the first creation account, plants were created on the third day and humans on the sixth day.

And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so .... And the evening and the morning were the third day.Genesis 1:11-13

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them .... And the evening and the morning were the sixth day. Genesis 27-31

Plants were created after humans.

In the second account, God formed a man before any plants existed (it hadn't rained yet and there was no man to till the ground). Sometime later, God created plants to please and feed the man.

These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth ... And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground. But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground. And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground. Genesis 2:4-7

And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed. And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Genesis 2:8-9
*emphasis mine*
That in no way implies that plants were created after Humans, EDEN was made after man, hence it was made specifically for him as a place to live.

You're mental gymnasting your way over everything to mantain the delusion that your Bible is magic, and you're jacking off all over your non-victories. Wow it's almost like I'm psychic.

You'll do the same stupid shit over all 525 no matter how much you have to bend over backwards. Because you're a slave to your disgusting fucked up backwards book.

From Genesis 1, it does start to state what you say:
""
26 Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals,[a] and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”

27
So God created mankind in his own image,
   in the image of God he created them;
male and female he created them.
""

But then...
""
28 God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”
""

What does it mean for those spirits to "increase in number, fill the earth", if they were all made previously?
Here, it seems to me like they mean actual humans on the face of the planet Earth, not just spirits.

So I'm led to think that Job's post rationalization missed a part.
Can you clarify?
Let me just make clear that the book of Job is the oldest book of the bible, it was written long before Genesis.

Hmmm... I did not know that.
Can you give me the chronology for all the books in the OT, please?

Doesn't this go against the paragraph 28 I quoted before?

I couldn't tell you the chronological order off the top of my head, I just happen to know that Job is the oldest book, so stating it's a post-rationalization its simply not true.

I don't see how if man had godlike power.

Explain how it's sexist if man was BOTH female and male combined? The female portion was taken out of man and made in to woman, or do you not remember that part?

That makes sense...
But I took a look at the wiki and here's what came out.

"Rabbinic tradition ascribes the authorship of Job to Moses, but scholars generally agree that it was written between the 7th and 4th centuries BCE, with the 6th century BCE as the most likely period for various reasons."

"Tradition credits Moses as the author of Genesis, as well as Exodus, Book of Leviticus, Numbers and most of Book of Deuteronomy, but modern scholars increasingly see them as a product of the 6th and 5th centuries BC."

The two books could have been contemporary, if the tradition is right, and Job could be post-Genesis, if one looks at the later dates posited for their writing.

Well, you said that "man was never intended to reproduce sexually", and yet Genesis 1§28 states "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth". How how this second bit happen without sexual reproduction?

Because mental gymnastics.

Don't you see Poca? It was a mistranslation and what God really meant was "Be industrious and do long division".
