2018 Ontario Election (FUBAR)

2018 Ontario Election (FUBAR)
Even if it's 4 months away the major contenders for the Premier of Ontario are confirmed . Unless there is a serious shake up these are my choices . And i'm not liking my options .

Rob Ford  - Leader of the Progressive Conservative Party -  A fat belligerent loud mouth . With ultra Conservative views that many in his own party consider extreme .

Kathleen Wynne- Liberal Party - A women who became leader because her boss lied about cancelling a Gas Plant that cost the province billions .And scandal she herself was involved in . So she seems shady .

Andrea Horwath- New Democratic Party -  Has no history of corruption . Is not a total moonbat . But does not have a hope in hell of winning .

So i'm stuck with an asshole i would never vote for . A woman i hate but could beat said asshole . And a woman who would lose to said asshole that i like.So either go for a possible victory and sell out  or vote on principle and lose . Good thing i have three months . I'm going to need them  Sad

No matter who wins you're still in Ontario, a nice place indeed.

Is this the same Rob Ford who went off the rails a few years back?

If it is, you Canadians must be either very forgiving or very forgetful.

Edit: See that the Ford I'm referring to is dead. Or do Canadians go in for necromancy?

Growing in popularity in the US is just opting out at the county, state or municipal level if a pol or law higher up is distasteful for some reason. Might as well extend it to the individual.

We have areas flouting drug and immigration laws, just a matter of time before it occurs to conservative areas to just say no to abortion rights, require concealed carry, or banning gay marriage, no legislation or court case needed. Just do it.

In the unlikely event the trend ever hits the Supreme Court, I'm thinking it wouldn't really matter if it went 5-4 or 4-5, people will just keep doing what they want.

I'm pretty sure it's his son. I need to ask my aunt and uncle in BC.

Doug is actually pretty liberal on drugs . Makes sense since both his brother and his dad were drug addicts .

He's pro immigration .But Conservatives in Canada are often vague abou what that means.

He's Pro life but just like when he was a city councilor he won't pursue a ban . Social Conservatives are not powerful in Canada.

He's vague on his stance on gay marriage

Thank goodness are system has checks that prevent him from pushing the last two far . But just having him a premiere is worrisome  Sad

Unless he bans beers or causes us to lose a hockey game . A revolt in summer in Canada is impossible . It's also im my opinion i really stupid time to hold elections .

Oh the province will survive i just wonder what extreme austerity measures will be pushed . Last time an extremist right winger was in charge they slashed nurses ,teachers  , museum staff and sanitation workers it was a mess afterwards .

The Fords don't sound like a stable family at all. How does Douggie even have a chance with that history?

The Fords are a very powerful and very old family in Toronto . They have a long history in business and municipal politics . And deep connections with the Conservative Party in it's many guises over the decade.s And are popular with the outer suburbs of Toronto which tend toward Conservatism . It's not hard to see how he has managed to distance himself from his brother and father . Both who were politicians.
