I don't think you're very good at projecting trends. It will be a long time before Muslims outnumber Christians in Europe, and never before they outnumber the non-religious. Birth isn't as reliable a way of transmitting religion as it used to be, especially not in a pluralistic region.

Obviously I don't expect you to understand why, that would also require a good education system.

You should explain it to pew research, because they see the non-religious declining as a percentage of the population over the next 50 years, Christians about the same, and Muslims growing.

As a percentage of the global population, not the European (or American) population. Abrahamic religions are doing well in developing countries, not so well in the developed world. Almost all the population growth in the next forty years will be happening in the developing world, which is why religiosity as a percentage of world population is expected to grow.

Germany has one of the lowest rates. Why do you think they took in so many immigrants? Problem is they have no idea what to do with them once they're there.

Fortunately, America is very good at assimilating immigrants, despite much propaganda to the contrary, and is expected to grow to 400 million people with the help of immigration.

-and those people will be culturally indistinguishable from "real americans" within one or two generations..not just because we're brutally ffective at assimilation..but because we do and always have incorporated immigrant culture into our culture.

Last I checked, the uk was a tad bit slower in producing that effect.....but..still produced it within a few generations.

(frustrating everyone's super traditional Nana to no end - who no longer hsa anyone to talk to because no one speaks her language or shows up at her homeland themed soirees like they're supposed to)

adden- It might be the height of irony that,.more than anything else..attempts to exclude or ostracize immigrants are the most effective way to -prevent- their assimilation.

If some immigrant can't go to the ball game for fear of being rounded up by ICE...it's not really surprising that they don't end up being fully part of that ball game culture. Or..if they're systematically disenfranchised and discriminated against..that they exist in a persistently adversarial relationship with the native culture. Essentially, the bigots application of a self fulilling prophecy IRL.

They're frightened that x..and by god they're going to do everything in their power to make sure that x is made reality!

True that. When you look at the highest rates of recidivism from religion to non in Europe, you find it's among 2nd and 3rd generation muslims. The middle eastis ripe for irreligion it's just the mullahs still wield the swords.

I dunno, once Christianity finally evaporates I think Islam will follow for the same reasons, kids won't buy it.

That would be nice. I wonder what virulent religion will follow Islam out of the ME?

The comment was hyperbole. I agree that this isn't going to happen within the next couple of generations.

Pew says they take that into account in their projections, and they generally seem to know what they're doing.

Pew isn't projecting a Muslim majority in Europe, so there's that.

I conceded that point in the previous post, so there's that.

It's "majority rule" in America with respect for the minority's rights (something that Trump does not understand).  As long as evangelical Christians are in the minority (and, they are), I could care less.
