The only person I'm around famialrly is the boyfriend, and he knows why I won't say it. His sneezes sound more like angry coughs anyway, so I doubt anyone would bless him.

In France, "Comment allez-vous" (How are you?) will get you a run down on all of a person's travails. In the US, and probably most other places, it's a pretty much empty gesture.
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.
Not sure how true this is, since I've never traveled outside the US, but supposedly retail people in Europe aren't required to literally kiss the customers ass.

In France, no matter if you are married in a church, you still have to go downtown and get it solemnized by the gov.
