And if your 'idea of a spirit' was wrong? how then would you be able to discern a messenger from a Messenger/angle of God?

If the lord of creation's message or appearance is so underwhelming as to be mistaken for non-existence then he probably needs to work on his act. I've never heard you...for example, say anything that struck me as even remotely credible when it comes to gods. Though, ironically, I do find your god stories a credible indicator of many things about you. This is uniform for me when it comes to believers, as I see all divine messages and messengers in this way.

You're trying to say goddisms at me, but in reality..I'm just getting to know your own private thoughts and tics.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Joe Smith had no trouble invoking the appearance of all manner of Heavenly beings. Curious his testimony isn't found more compelling as he reports all manner of encounters our theists presumably would want to get behind.
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.
