The Tax Bill: Pro-Life? Pro-Family?? Bullshit

You might further explain that increasing taxes in a democratic society almost always results in increased benefits to the tax payers.  By way of example, the highest tax rate here is 33% (effectively a smidge over 20%) and out-of-pocket medical cost for accidental injury is...nothing.

That's not going to happen as long as rich fucks determine who gets elected.  Money is the problem.

^This. If dems ran on this I might vote for them. But, all they'll do is raise things a couple percent.

The problem with the dems is that they don't raise taxes enough?

That's one problem. They encourage people to hate on the 1%, yet when they're in power they don't tax the hell out of the 1%, or 5%, or wherever you want the cutoff.

With small businesses, lower taxes actually does good for employment and the economy in general. But when you get to a certain income/wealth point, earning is a game, and higher taxes won't significantly dissuade them from earning.

I'm pretty sure they -try- to..there's just this little thing called the screaming howler monkey  nee republican now-rebranded-as-trump party..kindof obstructing taxes by the pussy.

Turns out, the problem, the whole time, was that they weren't able to overcome your own parties opposition?  IDK Alpha..kindof seems like blatant political trolling to me. Though, I;m sympathetic...that;s always been my gripe with the dems. Losing a fistfight to a bunch of simpletons.

Have they ever controlled house, senate, and WH? Yes.

So, no, they're not trying. They're paying lip service to it. They don't want to hurt themselves or their big donors.

Like I said, I have alot of sympathy....I've long written off our representatives as two brands both wholly owned by Donor Class Inc.

Though I'm not sure why a person would vote republican...if that was an issue for them.

You seem to ( willfully?) forget that Citizens United was a 2010 decision by a 5-4 vote of the conservatards on the SC.  I suppose you also (willfully?) forgot that the Dems lost control of the congress in the 2010 mid-terms.  Your history seems malleable.  In any case, they have not had control since the decision to let corporate scumbags spend whatever they want to spread lies.
