Hey, I just realized, all coffee company CEOs are bean counters.

How do you take your coffee?
|
I don't drink it. I did back in the 90's, but it stimulates too many body parts. But back in my coffee-drinking day, I'd take it many different ways. When in Vermont, at college, I liked a maple coffee they had (I forget specifics, but it was creamy). When I was in Connecticut at a Sheraton the night before a flight home from Vermont (I was closer to the Hartford airport than Burlington, VT) I would just take whatever cheap, black stuff they had in the room while watching Red Show Diaries or the planes outside my room. And I liked it that way. Black, btw.
At Sac State, I would do coffee with cream. I remember liking iced coffee at some point, too, but black is the way I miss it most. On a tangent, I miss chocolate covered coffee beans as well.

Funny you should mention that. I worked at a major pizza chain a long time ago. Shift manager told me to go into the walk in and get him the "dough patch repair kit." AND YES, I FUCKING FELL FOR IT!
From the gas station. Lately 1/4 cappuccino, 3/4 high test.
Most of the time my caffeine comes in pill form.
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.

I really enjoy the taste of a good cup of coffee, but since I'm a broke intern I've been drinking a lot of cheap shit, and the coffee is just means of getting caffeine in me. Maybe I should invest in those instead. (April 18, 2018 at 10:13 am)Aegon Wrote:(April 18, 2018 at 10:10 am)mh.brewer Wrote: From the gas station. Lately 1/4 cappuccino, 3/4 high test. Marketing makes you think you are buying crap, but I buy the generic store brand and I don't see the difference between that and Starbucks other than the price. I like cheap, and I see no difference in taste. I make mine at home, and put chocolate powder in it in place of sugar. I always buy generic over hyped up over priced anything.
Hot and black. I think I'll get some of those hazelnut pills to toss in. I love hazelnut, but don't want the hazelnut creamer- too many calories.
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.

For me it was a search to find the right strength and dissolution/absorption rate. Most come in 200mg and I have to break then in half. Can't tolerate No Doz, hit's me like a hammer.

Maybe I should invest in those instead. I mean, there are plenty of overpriced mediocre coffees out there that use marketing to trick people into thinking it's a superior product, but that doesn't mean that any more expensive brand is just as good as cheap stuff. That's like saying a $5 bottle of wine from the 7-11 is just as good as a $80 bottle from a vineyard. It's just not true. Or, even better, what about that cheap vodka in the plastic container vs. something like Grey Goose? The fact that you feel the need to put chocolate powder in your coffee to make it appealing to you says enough. A good cup won't require a single drop of anything else, in my opinion. I've had some magnificent "local" brand fresh coffee (that I ground up myself, the dumb hipster that I am) that tasted sweet on its own. Such good stuff. I hope you are not misunderstanding me. I get what you are saying. All I was saying was ON AVERAGE, marketing sucks people into paying way more than they really should. Yea, cheap isn't always good, but marketing put a cheap ass jackass in the White House, and that was after Obama. I like my coffee like my Presidents, BLACK AND CLASSY! |
