April 20, 2018 at 11:25 am

Quote:"Looks like OPEC is at it again. With record amounts of Oil all over the place, including the fully loaded ships at sea. Oil prices are artificially Very High! No good and will not be accepted!” Trump wrote on Twitter.
...
Following Trump’s tweet, Brent futures were at $73.25 per barrel at 1300 GMT, down 53 cents from their last close. WTI futures were down 45 cents at $67.84 a barrel.
I ain't an oil prices expert, is this literally Trump making an impact or are these just routine fluctuations?

You'll be sure to let us know when the crooks running the oil companies lower the price at the pump, won't you?

Markets react to things. This was the market reacting to Trump. If he says that oil prices are artificially very high, that means he's (a) sowing the seed of doubt about their actual value, and (b) hinting that he might want to do something legislatively about it. Both of those things are bad for investors in oil, hence the price goes down.
The same thing happened to steel stock prices when he announced that he might implement new tariffs, and then again when he actually did. The prices recovered I believe. Long term impact is what is key with stocks.

So basically, even a total idiot's words and actions influence the market when that total idiot is the president of the US of A.

Finally Trump does something useful! What's next? Is he going to boost development of things like Nuclear Molten Salt Reactor or Traveling Wave Reactor so that people stop using oil altogether and therefore take away power from so many evil people and therefore stabilize wars in Middle East and around?
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Oil and gas don't really have a future anymore i mean take a look at Venezuela that is going to be the bleak outlook for oil.
I mean we're already behind in the U.S. when it comes to green energy hell China and the middle east already has such a head start it's not funny.
If the U.S. starts working with Tesla we can start going places and start moving our energy grid off of nuclear and coal and gas until sustainable energy.
The future of OPEC isn't a good one oil will crash so will the economy i just don't have an idea of when but it will happen. But since democrats just voted for wall street
deregulation a stock market crash will likely happen sooner than later. Overall the future for oil and the oil dollar isn't a bright one but a very very i mean very bleak outlook.
We can keep using oil for products just no longer as a fuel source because there is no point in doing so.

Yeah, and here seems to be the reason why:
Quote:Koch Brothers boast about control over the Trump administration
The Kochs have profited handsomely from businesses that are massive polluters. Their companies produce more climate pollution than even major oil companies like Chevron and Shell.
thanks to Trump handing the Koch’s wide network free reign in the American government, the right-wing brothers will be able to pollute and profit at an increased rate.
And they aren’t being shy about it.
The Koch’s political operation recently disseminated a report in which the group “takes credit for more than a dozen new policies” put in place by the Trump administration
There are at least 44 Trump administration officials with close ties to the Kochs and their affiliated groups. Notable figures like Kellyanne Conway and White House Counsel Don McGahn worked for the Koch network.
Others, like Mike Pence and OMB Director Mick Mulvaney have benefitted from donations from Koch groups.
The Koch’s recent “accomplishments” include gutting the Obama administration’s Clean Power Plan, which cut greenhouse emissions from power plants; the efforts to revoke monument designations in favor of companies who want to drill; efforts to sabotage insurance coverage; and the tax cuts targeted at the super-wealthy (the Kochs are worth at least $96 billion).

But in the same time there seems to be at least some resistance:

Long before that asshole vilified and lied his way to the White Out House, I have long hated how local and national news have talked about the price of oil knowing we need to stop burning it. Sure he lies about everything, but that still doesn't have anything to do with the fact we need to move away from burning all fossil fuels.
