I believe we were predestined to hear the word of the Lord and have the choice of accepting Him or not.  If you choose not to accept Him and you know the consequences then in that case I believe annihilation of the body and soul is just.  We could be spirits from the heavenly realms and that is how the predestination was determined.  That only God knows.  God knows many many more things than we know.  He has infinitely more knowledge than us so I must accept that he knows better than me like I know what is better for my dogs.

I said predestined to hear the word.  There is still a free will choice to choose Christ or not.  The ones who haven't may be destined for destruction for spiritual reasons beyond our current knowledge.  I believe all children under the age of 13 (the age of accountability) who die are saved.
