Like what? the book of revelation?

God sat one man down and had him describe what he saw/how the world ends. What was written was an ancient understanding of a modern war.

I was not asking you specifically.

God commands murder - Chronicles 13:15-18. God commands more murder -Numbers 25 and rewarded Phinehas for going Son of Sam on two lovers. He kills every one on earth except eight. He ordains his own son to be slaughtered.

God says "Thou shall not commit murder".

How does one derive an objective moral basis for not committing murder based on this?
Yeah, well, that's just, like, your opinion, man. - The Dude

Because taking a human life, and murder are two completely different things.

This is true even on the level of Man. In the form of the state declaring war, or executing a criminal, or in a liberal state allow abortions. lest you think all women who've had abortions are murders...

So then how is God restricted to make the distinction between murder and killing if we can do the very same thing?
1Thess 5:21 Question all things and hold on to what is good.
That doesn't mean question just the questionable, it also means that we should question the foundational. If you have a biblically based question you'd rather not openly discuss i am happy to receive any PM's Semi-discreetly, or Email [email protected]

A/S/K= ask, seek, knock. As outlined in luke 11:5-13

Semi-discreetly= will never share details openly with anyone, but may remind you that I am not speaking out of a vaccum but rather that you may have shared some personal info with me 8+ years ago Dodgy

One would think if one heard a voice commanding one to harm another human being, that one would not obey such a voice/command. Unfortunately, irrationally, if one suspects it to be a holy order, one becomes to blind to reason. Why is that?

Would the existence of intelligent extraterrestrial life change your views on/belief in god?
God(s) and religions are man made and the bane of humanity.

Does God ever define what constitutes murder in the bible?

That's quite the bit of nonsense.

Question for the Christians: Do you think the faith/reason dichotomy is a dichotomy that makes any sense?

Also: Do you think it is only reason that makes any sense?

If not, do you think there's perhaps a reason for that?

That's the foolish perception one who knows nothing of God automatically assumes... God is a disembodied voice making irrational commands.

Why is that such an obstacle for you guys to get over after all his first words on the subject happened 1000s of years after the first murder when God appeared before moses (aging him in the process) and hand wrote commands not to Murder.

You literally have to cherry pick scripture to make the point you just made... Shouldn't that tell you something about your own morality and personal judgement?
