Satirical logic for the atheistic mind
RE: Satirical logic for the atheistic mind
Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum make a hell of a pair.  One of them insists that it takes faith to believe in planets, while the other thinks that it shouldn;t take much faith at all to believe that he;s been cured of every known malady by the power of christ.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Why is it more important to observe a planet using visible wave lengths? You mentioned Pluto not being properly seen by Hubble but we knew that it was there and eventually we sent a probe out there (New Horizons) and got pictures back.

Strange how you insist on visible evidence when it comes to planets but not for gods.

I have had visible evidence from God, not in a way you would accept, but then that doesn't matter because the evidence was for me. It is the atheist who wants the visible evidence until it comes to science and then they'll accept anything.
God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

I'm sorry to hear that. Had you experienced other illusory phenomena before that or was it a one-off?

If it had happened to you as it did me you would be rejoicing to this day, I'm the one sorry because you are missing out on an incredible life.

LOL!!! "It" happened to George Harrison, the guitarist for the Beatles who said:

If there’s a God, I want to see Him. It’s pointless to believe in something without proof, and Krishna Consciousness and meditation are methods where you can actually obtain GOD perception. You can actually see God, and Hear Him, play with Him. It might sound crazy, but He is actually there, actually with you.

And let me guess you don't accept Krishna from Harrison, but Mathilda and the rest of us should accept your illusions of Jesus as valid?
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

More likely I would have realised that the brain is a finely balanced complex system with different parts actively competing with each other and that it is also responsible for interpreting sensory input so you can hear and see things.

Tell me, was your experience at night / morning as you were falling asleep / waking up?

I had a religious experience the other night

So by meditating he kept himself persistently half asleep while immersed in an environment of God imagery so that his brain would interpret random noise that would otherwise be inhibited as a religious experience.

Or he could have saved himself the effort and taken hallucinatory drugs. Saying that, he was a member of the Beetles so probably already had a history of doing so, which would have trained his brain to make it easier for him.

I;m wondering how this incredible life produced such a boring person.

Quote:The extra snowfall that began 10,000 years ago has been slowly accumulating on the ice sheet and compacting into solid ice over millennia, thickening the ice in East Antarctica and the interior of West Antarctica by an average of 0.7 inches (1.7 centimeters) per year. This small thickening, sustained over thousands of years and spread over the vast expanse of these sectors of Antarctica, corresponds to a very large gain of ice – enough to outweigh the losses from fast-flowing glaciers in other parts of the continent and reduce global sea level rise.

Zwally’s team calculated that the mass gain from the thickening of East Antarctica remained steady from 1992 to 2008 at 200 billion tons per year, while the ice losses from the coastal regions of West Antarctica and the Antarctic Peninsula increased by 65 billion tons per year.

just in case you've completely deluded yourself let me break it down

Antarctica makes 200 million tons of ice again per year.
While it looses 65 million tons

so subtract 200 from 65, 145 MILLION tons of Ice per year..

Now that was at the height of global warming in 2008. global warming has now been in a decline for almost 10 years now. (which is why we have the name change/global climate change)

Did you get it? can you see it now?

Quote:The Antarctic Ice Sheet is an important indicator of climate change and driver of sea-level rise. Here we combine satellite observations of its changing volume, flow and gravitational attraction with modelling of its surface mass balance to show that it lost 2,720 ± 1,390 billion tonnes of ice between 1992 and 2017, which corresponds to an increase in mean sea level of 7.6 ± 3.9 millimetres (errors are one standard deviation). Over this period, ocean-driven melting has caused rates of ice loss from West Antarctica to increase from 53 ± 29 billion to 159 ± 26 billion tonnes per year; ice-shelf collapse has increased the rate of ice loss from the Antarctic Peninsula from 7 ± 13 billion to 33 ± 16 billion tonnes per year. We find large variations in and among model estimates of surface mass balance and glacial isostatic adjustment for East Antarctica, with its average rate of mass gain over the period 1992–2017 (5 ± 46 billion tonnes per year) being the least certain.

Funny how NASA does not agree with Drich's nonsense
