I'm not sure what world you are living in where "everyone else" lives their lives in private. He's a public figure, arguably he was one of the most public figures you can be (the POTUS). He's still relatively young, he's still involved in politics.

I don't personally give a rat's ass what he does with his life.

Just don't like seeing him on tv, so won't watch the show. That's all.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

The Obamas are slated to produce a hodgepodge of content for Netflix, from scripted to unscripted series to features, according to a news release from the company. The announcement came less than two months after the streaming network named former Obama-era national security adviser and ambassador Susan Rice to its board of directors.

Irked by the news, commenters began flooding Twitter with the resurrected #BoycottNetflix hashtag.

Conservatives just being jelly because 'Murica still likes Obama better than Trump.
Now they're after the First Amendment too?

Am I only one who thinks this type of BS on both sides is getting rediculous?

Now they're after the First Amendment too?

Boycotting something has nothing to do with the 1st Amendment. Netflix is not the government. Obama is not the government. Boycotting something is a way for consumers to show disapproval for a company and/or a company's product by refusing to buy it. It's entirely related to private enterprise.

Boycotting is a valid economical measure.

The reasons behind a boycott however, should be subject to scrutiny. Boycotting a streaming service because they are paying a politician you don't like for shows you aren't being forced to watch, comes across as a little petty. There are plenty of shows on Netflix that don't involve Obama.

I honestly would be surprised if anybody but the farthest right Republicans take part in this. In this economy cheap entertainment>Obama hate.

I guess the others can retreat to their safe spaces.
