Most of it is short - I expect to get through it in a few days. Then I'm picking Merchants of Doubt back up.

I'm going to read two plays by Durrenmatt: The Visit and The Physicists. After that, it's God of Carnage and David Copperfield.

Need to request some kindle love here...I like this book. Matter of fact, we should make a kindle love thread that we can leverage our voices on..lol. It has a great section on Ho-mu-tu culture, and their carved wooden handled-water buffalo shoulder blade spades. Think about gardening before spades and hoes..lol. Also, a foot shaped grinding slab for processing millet and other seed crops, by rolling a cylinder of stone or wood under foot, with the millet between..hehehe, efficient, but unappetizing. Shui-ch'uan site.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!
I think it might have been Gutenburg that had all sorts of old, cracked out veggie treatises and stuff. I downloaded a few. If that was the place I found them. I can't remember.

Hey, did you ever pick up "An Edible History of Humanity"?
I forgot if I told you or not...I was at the Saucer the other night with my books, studying and drinking. Normally people leave me alone - they're used to students. But this night, these two drunk older guys kept bothering me, and one of them figured out that I was going through a botany textbook. So he starts telling me how he almost went to Clemson for botanical studies, blah blah, and then he says "Horticulture is the psychology of plants, and botany is the sociology." And then he devolved into rantings about chemtrails and I got the fuck out of there. Also, he hates lawns. Lawns are the devil. Especially in NC. ![]()
Nope can't say that I have, got negative reviews, sell me on it.

Er...just started it, but I adored his other book "A history of the world in six glasses," which was an interesting look at history hinging on six different drinks: beer, wine, spirits, coffee, tea, and cola.

I'm reading The Rag and Bone Shop by Robert Cormier. I'm writing a review on it for my AP reading class.

I finished today listening to Martin Luther's The Bondage of the Will, essentially it was a reply to a work by Ersamus which stated that humans can choose to believe in god, while Luther would have nothing of it. The whole book is a monument to blind faith overriding reason.
Damn I should have read or listened to his On the Jews and Their Lies which was allegedly one of works which inspired Hitler.
