Just a guess, but a lot of comedians find it difficult to stay relevant, especially when their acts largely revolve around the low hanging fruit of gender differences, racial differences, age differences, etc. What was funny 20+ years ago is no longer because a lot of society simply finds it offensive. And instead of taking a step back and engaging in self-reflection, they blame the audience for being "too PC" and double down by conflating simply being offensive with actually being funny. Ricky Gervais and Dave Chappelle have recently gone down that path to varying degrees.
In Roseanne's case, it seems like she received positive reinforcement by people of Trump's ilk, and has aligned herself with them. That, or maybe she viewed herself as some kind of avatar for conservative women based on the original run of her show, and the bulk of the audience that watched it.
In any event, good riddance. I could never stand her or the show. The only positive things to come from it were John Goodman and scrubs-era Sarah Chalke.

I don't know how that joke can be funny or any other of her "jokes" like that Sandy Hook shooting was inside job done by liberals or her horrible singing of National Anthem after which she grabed her crotch and spat while still singing it

Wrong. It's only funny to those who seem to be perfectly fine with racism, misogyny and bigotry. This has nothing to do with being butthurt or being "pc". If you find humor in mocking your fellow man because of the color of their skin, their ethnicity or their gender, then sadly, you are part of the problem.

Maybe you can explain to us why it was funny.
Was there a punchline? Was it satirical? Did it bring together two otherwise unconnected concepts in a surprising way? Was there any intelligent word play? Did it depict an interesting and funny way to have an accident?
If it was funny, she might have got away with it.
