Though I have to wonder why you;d write out the theologically relevant bits of your own chosen mythology............are you not satisfied with those?
That's the thing, there weren't any theologically relevant bits in that analogy.
Jesus IS God, I don't know how many times one has to reiterate that point.
As for the rest, I changed it to have continuity with the rest of the story, whether one is doomed through sin or an asteroid matters not, doom is doom.

If you say so, but if it doesnt matter then theres no reason to make the change..and the strength of an analogy is in it;s closeness to the original subject matter. Directly after bitching about it being a poor analogy you saw fit to make it poorer. You distanced your own analogy from your own religion.
Your god didn;t save anyone from an asteroid and ask for a pat on the back. He killed a jew to cure an invisible disease, the cure didn;t take, and yet still he demanded that we bow or be tortured.
Hallelujah!

As for the rest, I changed it to have continuity with the rest of the story, whether one is doomed through sin or an asteroid matters not, doom is doom. The asteroid analogy only works if the boss alien molded the asteroid from space metals and directed it's course towards earth. Then, when he offers to sacrifice himself he tells you "In 3 days my alien body will reassemble itself and I will be back for my groveling minions! Don't make me mold another asteroid!"
God thinks it's fun to confuse primates. Larsen's God!

As for the rest, I changed it to have continuity with the rest of the story, whether one is doomed through sin or an asteroid matters not, doom is doom. So if Jesus is God and he died for about three days then he's not necessary for the functioning of the universe. Everything keep working just fine while he was dead. So who needs him?
