IKR?
Someone already mentioned it in thread....but, if these folks really want that to have some credence then we;re going to need a list of sincerely held beliefs before the fact and some documentation as to the sincerely held beliefs holders efforts to uncover whether -all- of their patrons conform to that list. Did you sell cookies to a couple living in sin? Did you sell a cake to pagans? Is the business that delivers your flour run by a homosexual? What calculus is being used to deny service to one group of sinners if we maintain that all have and do sin?
On and on and on.
Somehow, I doubt that christian bigots would appreciate the state adjudicating their faith in this way..and it;s clear that the courts don;t want to...but they just keep pushing for it.

I don’t believe that, and I don’t think that reflects a large majority of Christians. As well it doesn’t say to hate gays anywhere in the Bible. Unless you are presenting that calling a behavior wrong means that you hate the person. In which case I would bring up those in glass houses probably should not throw stones.

It doesn;t matter whether or not it reflects a large majority of christians. I would hope that it doesn;t..and it certainly doesn;t reflect either the christians or christianity that I'm most familiar with (which sort of calls the whole "sincerely held beliefs" thing bullshit on it;s face). The christians in question in these cases hold that their right to free exercise is somehow being infringed upon by the civil rights of gay customers.
You..despite Totally Not Being One Of Those Christians...are nevertheless carrying water for them, and have been doing so all thread...and that, is what a bunch of bullshit looks like.

I don’t think that hat you understand, and shouldn’t presume to speak for others based on ignorance. If you can’t accurately represent those you are opposing, then I give little credence to your thoughts on the matter. If you want to argue your position, that is fine. But don’t make up lies about others.

I don’t think you know what discriminate means!
dis·crim·i·nate
verb
1. recognize a distinction; differentiate.
2. make an unjust or prejudicial distinction in the treatment of different categories of people or things, especially on the grounds of race, sex, or age.

I love the hypocrisy of RR decrying the use of the term bigotry because of its baggage, then using a broad definition of discrimination knowing full well it has plenty of baggage of it's own.
Yes, RR, we discriminate all the time. I frequently and openly discriminate against Walmart because their business practices are deplorable. Guess wahy. That's nit a crime because Walmart isn't part of a protected class. The only reason to discriminate against a same sex wedding is because the participants are gay, a protected class in Colorado. It's not like choosing I phones over Galaxies or Target over Walmart. It's fueled by ignorance or hatred, and most often both.
For the argument from sincerely held beliefs to hold any weight at all, you would have to make exceptions to the law for Seventh Day Adventists and their sincerely held belief that mixed race marriages are wrong.

To even -have- an argument to bring before the courts..regardless of whether or not it has merit...a person must contend that their sincerely held beliefs contain a prohibition against recognition of the legitimacy of civil rights. They simply can;t comply with the law without running afoul of their god...somehow.
I find it amusing to hear this summary of the fact of the matter being called a lie by our resident water bearer.... if it is a lie......it;s not my lie, and I;m not the one telling it.
