Bashing God for the Misery of Life

RE: Bashing God for the Misery of Life
Do away with gods and love life. Strive to make life better.
God thinks it's fun to confuse primates. Larsen's God!

That is the problem with most fundamentalists and theists. They are so focused on life after death, which is not even a guarantee, that they entirely miss properly enjoying the one life on earth that is a guarantee.

Yeah, if we're being tested, then there's no reason to think enjoying ourself is the intention.

It's just that I never agreed to be part of this test, and anyone who thinks they are experimenting on me can fuck off. I will blame them for doing that, and all the suffering it causes.

I'll just try and enjoy life, such as it is, as much as I can. I don't care what the intention is.

No... it;s not...lol.   It;s just another attempt for you to excuse your god for its neglect, incompetence, or malice by yelling "Squirrel!".

I don't get what "blaming life" is supposed to mean.

If this is an experiment at our expense, then life is that experiment, and so I blame the beings responsible for it for any and all consequences. Why wouldn't I? How can I be angry at the manifestation of the experiment itself? That makes no sense. It would be like saying I'm angry at the baseball bat someone is hitting me with.

I have only one way out of this experiment, and it's far from just clicking an X in the corner of a window, and it carries far more moral implications. Or I can just wait around until I die, and make the best of things in the meantime.

If we can leave the silly concept of "gods" behind for a moment, we could consider more plausible scenarios.

Maybe this is indeed an experiment, but one that doesn't concern us specifically. It could be that a being in another plane of existence has used some sort of computer to run a simulation. It would have no particular reason to suspect that any parts of it have become self-aware.

So I'd say this potential programmer is responsible for our suffering, but I wouldn't think badly of them. It's no different to us running one and the same thing happening.

When you consider the scale of the simulation, I doubt anything that happens on earth is of any interest. I'd guess it's more about how a particular cosmic scenario would play out, given some particular initial conditions.

Their own (part of) reality might have nothing much in common with ours; what we perceive as our reality is just how the program functions. It might be a study of some complex mathematical functions or something.

True, i was containing myself to this rock because thats the only one that the religious consider to be of any importance. Further, precious little of this rock or whats on it. Though, in truth, I find the simulation hypothesis equally as lazy as the god hypothesis.

It would be if it was being put forward as a serious consideration based on no evidence whatsoever, I agree. It's just cleaning up the "God" idea into something that at least makes some sense. I don't have any reason to think this is a simulation.
