Are there any YECs in the house here?

RE: Are there any YECs in the house here?
The strangeness of that sort of shit is it;s pointless banality, imo.

I doubt that many people intentionally turn their kids into dolts for any reason....in fact, I;d be surprised if anyone could identify any binding compulsion to teach their kids that at all.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

My younger cousins don't have much hope of attending a university that doesn't have "Baptist" in the name.

Fear. Fear of not fitting in with their peer group. They have to know the words to say and the songs to sing or they'll be suspect. That can get ugly. "Boy, I didn't buy hundreds of guns with no intention of using them."

It's called child abuse. The Duggars have the technique down cold, although, their offspring are starting to drift away from their rabid fundamentalism.

That long ago, huh? No wonder you are experiencing heat death of the universe. Big Grin

The words baptist and university should never appear together.  As the saying goes, the biggest problem with baptists is that they don't hold them under long enough.

Yeah, there's a few. I consider it a major success of these boards that a particular YEC finally let go of that crap and was then able to learn about evolution and such. That was some time ago though. I've not been aware of any other member progress.

Yes I am and I'm surprise you did not realize it. Could be more than 10K but far less than a million. I would think the only time that dinosaurs and man cohabited would have been in the Garden of Eden, things quickly broke down after that.

God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

Actually the world as we know it is less than a second old.

Bob the Wombat God continually destroys the earth and recreates it immediately. That’s how we experience the passage of time.

If Bob stopped, we would be frozen in the same moment, stagnant and unmoving, until we were driven mad by this phenomenon beyond our understanding (or utter boredom).

So next time a YEC tries to tell you about “god” tell him about Bob and how he should be giving thanks.

Ignorance on a Trumpian Scale.  Go read your fucking bible, G-C.  Leave the heavy thinking to people who can handle it.
