The only thing a Fox body Mustang is good for is cannibalization to put the drive train into an AC Cobra kit car. Back when I was traveling a lot for work, I came within a fraction of an inch of getting a kit to work on while I was gone for so long. But that money ended up as hardwood floors throughout the house, as a health measure. The existing carpet had so much cat dander and urine in it that it almost killed me before we got rid of it.

These days Fireman, you can't even make (register on the road) a kit here car unless it's euro 4 compliant...!
My other mate Vic (next door) made one (cobra kit) with a 5.0 litre ford engine / 6 speed (euro 3) and got it through just as the laws were changing...
He considered himself lucky.
(I still see him driving it around Sunbury every now and again. It's a beast...)
Jimmy with the Bumblebee was telling me that in fourth gear on the freeway he put the foot down and the traction control came on to stop the wheels from spinning! Another beast...

Torque is king, that's all there is to it. I had a friend whose mother bought a '68 Fairlane GTA with a 390 and a 3-barrell Holley (automatic trans). He could mash the throttle at 90 and just vaporize the tires. They had shit for traction. It would probably hook with today's tires. Another reason I didn't build the kit car was because I found out that the California DMV only allows 500 to be licensed per year...in the entire state. My chances of getting in the door and to the counter in time would be vanishingly small.

They should all be this?
That's a 1970 Ford Maverick stuck to a 1970 Ford Falcon rear.

Yeah, that's why the bumpers are 'shopped on.
It was sarcasm, it was a terrible design for an iconic car.

Well, except for the front and rear bumpers, maybe. they may have come off another late 70's, 80's mustang.
