Social media and sexual harrasment

Any of you ladies out there, do you experience this at all? I am not a woman, but just by reading comments on some people's Facebook accounts I can understand this. For instance, there are some local news anchors I follow. They are quite attractive women (shocker right?). Anyways, I do notice more than 3/4 of the comments are from lonely men soliciting them for anything from a date to sex. I see this on a Playboy models page as well. What do these guys think is going to happen? Do they think the lady is going to respond and message them their phone number?
Another big one is receiving private messages from people they don't know. I have a few friends and my sister who have had to deal with this. Often it is from guys they have never met either sending pictures of their dicks or soliciting for sex. I mean what the fuck! Whatever happened to being a damn gentleman? If you don't know her, do you really think she's going to want to date you? Is this what happens in the age of dating apps like Tinder?

I think it's a combo pack of 'delusion' 'hatred of women' and 'a numbers game.'
Some guys don't realize they are piles of shit nobody wants.
Some guys hate women, and getting them to look at their dick is their power move. You reject me!? Well, I got you to look at my penis! I win!
And I'm sure some guys just have a bit of success with it. Send out 50 dick pics, maybe one of the ladies is into it.

Someone online did threaten to rape and murder me while my husband was forced to watch. Thank heavens I am old enough now to be invisible.
I've certainly had my share of sexual harassment offline though.

I think it's more about ego and entitlement than conscious malice, although that most certainly does exist.

I am annoyed at how much female athletes looks are picked over on social media. I don't know what the solution is to this. I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for some great evolution in male conciousness though.
You can console yourself by knowing that those guys harrassing women online basically never get laid.

Yea, it happens online, in general. But, you shrug it off, ignore it. I don't consider it all ''harassment,'' unless it's incessant, and I've asked them to stop, and they don't.
