Honestly, I think our entire society needs to get over it's collective prudishness about the naked human form. There's a reason the US is the most sexuallly repressed society in the world and the world's largest consumer of porn.

Breasts are not comparable to a vagina or a penis.  Those two things are for making babies, in private.  The former is for feeding them.  Do you think eating should be done in private?  So, you're against things like restaurants?  Think it's gross when old people eat?  Maybe we should ban them from eating in public, too?

When a baby is hungry and needs to eat, the mother shouldn't be shamed, nor the baby made to wait, until they are in private because some prude jerkwad thinks female breasts are somehow offensive.  Fuck that. The health of the child (and mother) is more important than the mild offense that might be taken by seeing one split second of nipple while getting it in the babies mouth.

And the baby is not going to starve to death if the mother takes a few extra moments to address the issue of proper civility in breastfeeding in public.

I get it. And thanks. I just needed to respond to Kit because of the absurdity that women who nurse are somehow, to use his word, stupid because they just yank out a boob, when in reality, it rarely happens that way.

Personally, I find breast feeding in public to be a lovely thing to see, in a non-sexy way, totally natural and I don't stare.
It's not just healthy for mum and kid, but for society also.
I think it would be quite unsupportive of mothers to make them go and hide in a designated room.
Find a map of your local area with public toilets marked and tell mothers with babies that they must not stray far from these areas, it's oppressive.
