They won't do away with the 22nd amendment. You need 2/3rds of the states. Seems unlikely they'll have that much sway. Plus Trump will be 1000 year old blob of fat by then.

Also Trump can't be arrested. A sitting president needs to be impeached before being arrested. For good reason .

Not with the feckless sycophants in Congress, not a chance.

We're stuck with the motherfucker until that changes.

No. He's not the president USA needs, he's the president USA deserves. For at least another 6 years, or until he snuffs it on top of a hooker.

Good luck.

The sad fact of this despicable country is that we'll have to just deal with continually electing idiots to destroy the country while minimal effort is taken to correct what Republicans have done when next the Democrat is elected.

The solution is actually simple, but with an EC that seems to want to see damage done, there is this sick cycle of Repub, Dem, Repub, Dem.

No. Stop it right now.

Short history in my lifetimes shows the Repubs destroy the country and the economy while the Dems do every thing they can to fix it.

This is something the people need to realize, but they don't.

I'm done.

I'm done.

I can't fight any more against the ignorance.

There's always the hope he will resign, a la Nixon.  Not an implausible scenario (not very likely, but not totally batshit, either):

The Mueller investigation find convincing evidence of crimes committed by Trump, crimes that will certainly send him to prison upon conviction.  His advisors and family convince him to resign on the promise that Pence will pardon him once in office.

I voted no. It's never a single leader that's at fault but all their supporters and voters that give them the power to do what they do. The leader just represents what they want to happen. These people will continue supporting Trump until they find out first hand why they were wrong. And things have to get really bad before they realise they made a mistake.

Saying that, Trump is doing his best to make that happen as soon as possible!

That's just disturbing.

I have faith that he'll shoot himself in the foot and that scenario will not happen.

Unfortunately, no.
He does have the support of Republicans, since he is a bolder manifestation of most of their inner thoughts. They have someone who'll push for what they truly want, BUT their own heads are away from all the heat. They will do everything to make sure he stays in office right now, and wins it again in 2020. (When I'm gonna vote, so no. Dream on, Cheetohead.  Thumb Down ). And unfortunately, they have the numbers, at least in Congress, to do so.

According to the constitution, only Congress has the power to bring charges (impeach) a sitting President. The House charges and the Senate convicts.

Unless we get a huge turnover in Congress in November (crossing fingers), an impeachment just won't happen.

Meuller can bring information to Congress, but doens't have the power to charge the President. If Congress chooses to ignore that information (which the Republicans will), there is no other way to have a legal case.

Now, under the 25th amendment, the Vice President and the staff can declare the President unfit for office and the VP takes over. If the President challenges this, it ultimately goes to Congress.

Thank you for the explanation. So it's either the "impeachment by Congress" or "the expiring of his presidential term". That is terrible because the Congress has more Republicans than Democrats in 2016, I assume they increased now.

I can see why you voted no; a yes would be a wish.

Indeed. In this matter, the courts have *no* say whatsoever. It is *completely* a matter for Congress to resolve. Even if Mueller finds absolutely conclusive evidence of outright treason, murder in broad daylight on camera, etc, unless Congress acts on that information, there is nothing to be done until the next election.

But I can also see and sense a very close end for the American President Donald Trump's political position.

This clown didn't just embarrass the U.S; he literally commit grand treason against his own country. It's not the preferring of KGB results and refusal of American investigation, but it's him paying for the disgusting idiotic -and inhumane- racism, rash actions and support for death and war worldwide.

It doesn't seem like their is evidence for anything like that at the moment.
