Well he does seem to have won the cold war for Russia from a position of weakness.

Putin has done in 3-4 years what the USSR had failed to do between 1945-1990, which is to shatter the NATO alliance that was designed to contain Russian military and political power on Euroasia, make the US self-distruct as leader of the western block and democratic nations in a way considerably more humiliating and more own-goal style then how the Soviet Union self-destructed as the leader of the communist block in 1989.

Because we're the world's biggest consumer, and everyone wants to sell to us. Trump's the first president to understand this and use it to our advantage.
