Well, not THE Devil.

But certainly demons...

I wonder how they'd feel if the found out I wrote the outline of a story where a group of villagers in the 1500s were hunting witches and their target turned out to be a demoness instead...?

Christians just doing what they always have been doing and that is taking other people's mythology and incorporating them into their own.
